What did Benjamin Franklin do during the American Revolution?

I have a project in history due, which is about who is most responsible for american victory in the Revolutionary war, and i need to know why Franklin is so important. any help is appreciated. Thanks!

    Franklin was the US ambassador to France where he campaigned to get monies from Louis to help the Americans in their struggle. He must have been successful since Admiral De Grasse brought the French fleet to Yorktown to defeat the British army under Cornwallis and win America it’s freedom.
